Simon Philip Yates (born 7 August 1992) joined the Michelton-Scott team (then called Orica-GreenEDGE) in 2014 and since then has won a lot of races including the young rider classification in the 2017 Tour de France. Adam Yates his twin brother, also a cyclist is a part of the same team.

La Vuelta Espana is one the Grand Tours of the stage races which takes place across Spain, Italy, and France from April to September. The other two races which complete the Grand Tour are Giro d’Italia and Tour de France.

SIMON YATES’ STANDINGS THROUGH 21 STAGES of LAVUELTA18

The final grand tour of this year’s #lavuelta18 or Vuelta a España started from 25th August 2018 with 6 Flat stages with 2 high altitude finishes, 6 hill stages, 5 mountain stages and 2 Individual Time Trials with a total of 46 summits the tour finished last Sunday 16th September 2018.

Through the 21 stages, the 26-year-old Yates aced in all the Mountain and Hill stages on his SCOTT ADDICT RC (Team Edition), his favorite weapon of choice. The bike helped him create history by tackling high altitudes and attaining summits he preferred.

PRIZED ACHIEVEMENTS OF SIMON YATES AT LAVUELTA18

Previously, SCOTT Men’s Team has won Rainbow stripes, Spring Classics and Gold medals on a lot of occasions, however a Grand Tour victory was only recently added to the list of accolades, thanks to Simon Yates winning the Vuelta a Espana. This is his first Grand Tour victory and the first one ever for SCOTT Sports.

In the LaVuelta18, Simon Yates holds the prestigious

  1. Red jersey (General Classification Leader) for 11 stages and
  2. Winning White Jersey at the end of the tour (Combination Classification).

*White Jersey (Combination Classification) – The rider must score points in all classification General, Points and Mountains to win the jersey in La Vuelta.

*Red Jersey (General points Classification) – The rider with the lowest aggregate time wins Red Jersey at the end of each stage in LaVuelta.

LAVUELTA18 – FINAL GENERAL CLASSIFICATION

General Classification in road racing is a category that tracks the aggregate time of each rider in a multi-stage cycling races.
